Grounding in Private Houses in Bishkek: Why and How to Do It Right
Why grounding is necessary
Without grounding, appliance casings can become energized at 220V. In Bishkek's apartment buildings grounding is usually present, but many private houses lack it.
When is grounding mandatory?
For water heaters, washing machines, electric stoves, lightning protection, server equipment, and for RCD to work properly.
Types
- Triangle ground loop: 3 electrodes, 2-3m deep — from 8,000 som
- Modular rod: single rod 15-30m deep — from 15,000 som
- Deep grounding for rocky soil
Bishkek soil conditions
Clay-loam soil with 20-60 Ohm·m resistivity — good for grounding. Southern outskirts may need deeper electrodes.
